Outfit of the Day: Blush Tones & Black on Black
Something about taking pictures, telling stories, and mutually freezing together really bonds girls! The evening of this shoot, my dear friend Jordan Henson introduced me to her friends and fellow photographers Megan Kelsey Marcus & Meredith Sledge from Virginia! They are 2 of the sweetest, big hearted, and talented women I have ever met! It was such an honor to dream up 3 shoots together and put them into action. We found the prettiest little pastel building downtown and all of us instantly fell in love with the girly pink window panels. We just knew it would be a perfect fit for this outfit(hello matching jacket! 😉
This is my girly, modern and sophisticated Outfit of the Day inspired by blush tones, monochromatic dressing for lengthier legs, and a bird bib necklace from my mom. 🙂
Pinks are IN for the season and that makes me one happy girl! Ring in spring with light blush tones, peachy corals, and pops of vibrant fuchsia! Remember that it’s o.k. to wear to similar shades if you make it look purposeful! Here I layered a pleather nude-pink tee with a slightly darker blush jacket.
Monochromatic dressing at work here, people! Above are two methods being used. My top and jacket serve as one example; Even though both pieces are not the exact same hue, they are in the same color range. Another example is black denim and black boots. This is another form of monochromatic dressing; using 2 of the exact same colors to appear longer, leaner, and put together!
Tip: You can do it too! Try head-to-toe monochromatic dressing, with all blue pieces just different shades, or a mixture of winter whites and bright whites!

5 Essentials for the Modern Work Woman

Outfit of the Day: High Waist Trousers!
Details are key to any outfit and I love a good bow. Tie a thin scarf through your belt loops to create a fun one-of-a-kind belt, or tie a sash into a bow for a classic, sweet finish. A printed scarf like a floral-to-lace, polka dots, or mixed stripes is an easy way to add a little casual fun to a work look. A mini crossbody bag is a great solution to switch your outfit from day to night when you unhook the strap and take your now-clutch out on the town! Finally, a classic comfy pump is the perfect last piece to complete your look!
A high waisted pencil trouser is a curvy girls best friend! Finding a pant that equally flatters your figure while also highlighting what you’ve got is a confident must. A neutral but light colored pant is a great start to building a versatile wardrobe that can go from the office to lunch with the girls!
Trend alert: Chambray! The great part about owning about a dozen variations of chambray dresses, tunics and vests, is the season-to-season versatility and simplicity of it. A light chambray like featured above is a casual and feminine style update for your wardrobe this spring! Half tuck in the front and belt it, while leaving the back flowing for an easy fix on over sized tunics like this one.
Tip of the week: Keep it simple! Mixing prints and layering multiple tops is one of my FAVORITE things in fashion, but sometimes pairing just 2 or 3 really stellar pieces is all you need for a fresh, modern look.
