Spring: The Wedding Guest Look

It may not feel like it outside these past couple of weeks, but winter is surely coming to an end and Spring is just around the corner. Spring brings a bouquet of beautiful, bright things like sunny mornings, warmer weather, fresh growing flowers, garden parties, and of course; Weddings.

Valentines Day is such a popular day for weddings all over the country, not to mention Spring in general. This look is spot on for attending a semi-formal, or Valentines wedding this Spring! With wedding season approaching us, I have styled a look that is comfortable, versatile for outdoor and indoor venues, and is fun to wear! (and who doesn’t love polka dots? 😉

My favorite part of styling an outfit, is that special POP piece that is a total game changer! Once you’ve got your basic pieces, the fun part is throwing in that pop color jacket, funky tights, your favorite bracelet, or even a fitted belt! As I have said before (and will continue to say since it is such a key point in styling!), a jacket is a GREAT completer piece! I opted for a flowy blazer with a super fun blue hue to show my love of color!

If you know me at all, you know how obsessed with the details and characteristics in an outfit or single clothing piece I am. Every women of every age needs a go-to clutch for events! A good go-to clutch that will go with just about anything can be a neutral like black, navy, pale camel, or blush. You’ll want a clutch about the size of a large manila envelope so that is big enough for your phone, lipstick and money, but not so big that you end up hauling it around for the entire event.

Keeping with the details of an outfit, a personalized touch that shares a little about you is a great feature. These little gold daisy studs are my favorite earrings! Daisy’s are about the only flower that I can smell (God knows why) and I love the simplistic girlishness that they show! Gold has been in it’s prime this season, and for gals like me who just LOVE gold, adding little bits of something that is currently trending is great to incorporate into a classic look.

Not sure how dressy you should go for a wedding? Skirt the issue! Skirts are a great way to dress up an outfit for a semi-formal wedding or event. With choosing a skirt as the center piece of your outfit, you can leave the creativity to a fun top or modern jacket. I chose a fit and flare (or skater skirt) with my blouse tucked in to really highlight my waist and show off some curves! If you’re not into this skirt shape, a trumpet or pencil skirt are also perfect options to amp up a casual look.

I had such a blast collaborating with Jordan on this shoot! If you don’t know already, I love love love to be goofy and I laugh almost more than I breathe! In that I have found life to be so much more joyful in every part of my day. I really feel like God is filled with overwhelming joy when we laugh more, enjoy the little things, and never take ourselves too seriously. I certainly don’t. 😉
